Information for Patients

Everything you need to know about your visit to our practice

Do I need a referral to see Dr Martin Smith?

A medical referral is not required to see a Sport and Exercise Physician, but if you wish to claim a Medicare rebate for the consultation, a significantly greater rebate applies if a referral is received from your GP or a medical specialist.

Referral Validity:

  • • GP referrals: Valid for 12 months from initial consult
  • • Specialist referrals: Valid for 3 months

We maintain excellent communication with your GP and allied health team for collaborative care and progress updates.
